Linux x86_64 Hardware Recommendations

All:

Were looking to migrate our Informix installation to standalone x86 machines running RHEL 7. We'd be doing a two socket server with dedicated Direct Attached Storage (DAS). Right now, there are three hardware vendors in the running: Dell, HP and Lenovo. All are quoting similar hardware in terms of CPU/RAM/etc.

Does anyone have any first hand experience running Informix on Linux on these platforms? If so, I'd like to hear the good, the bad and the ugly from your experiences.

Close - dell 2 socket with PERC and 4 x 6G 600G SAS drives in raid 10 - Centos 6.7

Blazing is all I can say ATM - it’s in test ATM but it restores a 170+ G archive in under 30 minutes
